Whistler Winter Kick off

Meet at the base of the mountains in Whistler Village to enjoy a free outdoor movie. The show will feature a collection of the Whistler Film Festival’s short films based on true stories about Whistler, as well as some of the other top short films from the festival. You can take part in an outdoor street hockey game, get your very own balloon toque or have photos taken with the beautiful animated characters. This fun, family-friendly event ends with a fireworks display at 8 PM.

Dress Like Santa and Ski for Free

Dress like Santa and Mrs. Claus and bring the festive fun to the slopes. A free lift ticket will be awarded to the first 75 people to arrive at the Garibaldi Lift Company, at the base of Whistler Mountain, in full Santa or Mrs. Claus attire.

BC Cup Biathlon Competition

December 14 – 15 2013
The Callaghan Winter Sports Club will host the first Nesters BC Cup 1 biathlon competition of the season at Whistler Olympic Park. Spectators are welcome with $10.00 entry fee to park.

Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Event

December 15 2013
All Rounder Park Jam – Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Event featuring an early season All Rounder Park Jam taking place in one of our Nintendo Terrain Parks utilizing the best terrain available. Competitions open to skiers and snowboarders, all ages welcome unless an age range is indicated in the title of the event.

Fire and Ice Show

This world renowned, free outdoor show is held every Sunday at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains in Whistler Village. Live entertainment includes ski and snowboard big air displays, fire spinners, live DJs and fireworks display. This is a fun event suitable for the entire family. Afterwards head over to the Garibaldi Lift Co. (GLC) for the notorious Afterburn Party (Adults only after 8 PM).

Kokanee Valley Race Series

December 19 2013
Season Opener GS – The Kokanee Valley Race Series is held on Thursdays throughout the season. The series is open to skiers, telemarkers and snowboarders with different gender and age divisions.

The Whistler Holiday Experience

December 20 – January 5 2014
The indoor Family Fun Zone provides great entertainment for children and parents both during the holiday season. Kids can let loose with a mini putting course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts, and video games. It’s all free for 15 days over Christmas and New Year. Parents can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a coffee or hot cocoa while the kids explore and play.

Skate with Santa

More great fun for the whole family at the outdoor rink at the Whistler Olympic Plaza. Santa will be handing out candy canes and posing for photos. Skate rentals are available.

Free entertainment for families on Monday and Wednesday evenings in Whistler Village – The Whistler Olympic Plaza hosts these events with different activities and local entertainment every week. Check in with the Village Hosts on the day of the event to confirm if it’s going ahead – these are weather dependent events.

King of the Rail presented by Showcase

The King of the Rail is a series of rail jam contests which run on selected nights at the Base of Whistler next to the Fitzsimmons Chair. Separate categories for Snowboarders and Skiers, Male and Female and Adult and Youth.

13 and Under Slopestyle – Park Rider Ski and Snowboard Event will take place in one of our Nintendo Terrain Parks utilizing the best terrain available. Competitions open to skiers and snowboarders – aged 13 and Under for this competition only.

Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve Celebrations

December 31 2013
Welcome the new year at this alcohol-free evening of family entertainment and celebration in Whistler Village. Wristbands grant you access to a range of venues with entertainment for young and old including family entertainment, music, arts, crafts, food, dancing and ice skating at Whistler Olympic Plaza.

Wristbands will be available for purchase from the Whistler Visitors Centre, Millennium Place, Meadow Park Sports Centre and online through Whistler.com in early December until close of business December 30, 2013. Last minute purchases can be made December 31, 2013 at the kiosk desk in front of the Whistler Conference Centre.

Whistler Presents: New Years Eve Kids Countdown

December 31 2013
Part of the Whistler Presents: New Year’s Eve Celebrations, this special party for kids will happen at Millennium Place. Celebrations will include fire spinners, pop-up dancers, circus entertainers, live music, maple taffies, popcorn, cartoons, face painting, storytelling and a giant bubble wrap stomp and balloon drop for the kid’s countdown at 9 PM. Wristbands are required for entry and will be available from the Visitors Center, Millennium Place and online through Whistler.com in early December until close of business.

New Year’s Eve Fire and Ice Show

December 31 2013
This special Fire and Ice Show will be held at the base of the mountains in Whistler Village from 11 PM to 12 AM as part of the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Dress warm, grab a cup of hot chocolate and prepare to be amazed by the live entertainment including ski and snowboard big air displays, fire spinners, live DJs and fireworks display – it’s guaranteed fun for the entire family.
